We have been living for two years in the mist of a global pandemic, the resolution of which has
depended, and still depends, on the awareness, training and involvement of all health professionals
at multiple levels. The availability of vaccines and new therapeutic strategies provide us with tools
of critical importance, the management of which must however be carefully regulated. Knowledge
of their potential in relation to the epidemiology of infection, viral evolution and the continuous
updating of diagnosis and surveillance tools is part of a fundamental training for those who work in
the health sector, which must be preserved and promoted.
The SARS-CoV-2 outbreak has led to a steady stream of new information about the virus, the
disease it causes, and the tools to diagnose and fight it. These range from seminal and
groundbreaking studies published in leading medical journals to pre-print articles, released even
before their scientific validity is established by peer-review. This continuous flow of information
underscores the need for expert scrutiny of emerging data and international public health
provisions, transforming them into a concise and clear message.
These webinars are a series of interactive online meetings. The program includes a wide range of
topics, from virology to epidemiology, prevention and treatment of COVID-19, diagnostics, public
health measures, clinical manifestations and the management of acute and chronic complications.
The goal of this series of meetings is to give an expert reading of the most relevant and innovative
aspects of SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19.
