Dear Friends, Dear Colleagues, It is our pleasure and privilege to invite you to attend the International Symposium “Current perspectives and future directions in cardiovascular protection” which will take place in Kraków, Poland, November 20th – 21st , 2014. Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of mortality. This happens at a time when a large number of effective and very well-tolerated cardiovascular drugs have become available. The failure to control cardiovascular risk factors takes an unacceptable toll on patients, families and society. Therefore, our efforts should focus on better and more effective methods of cardiovascular protection. Cardiovascular protection creates an interest throughout a broad range of people in the medical profession, from family medicine and general practice, to the more specialised fields of cardiology, nephrology and endocrinology, and even further on into physiology and pharmacology. The conference will be held in the beautiful and fascinating city of Kraków, always a great place to visit. The Congress will not only be focused on presentation of the up-to-date guidelines, but will involve the discussion regarding the obstacles in their implementation. International faculty will discuss new mechanisms underlying cardiovascular disease, recent developments in diagnostics and management, challenges and novel targets in cardiovascular protection. The program will consist of seven sessions with the intention to establish true interaction between the participants and the faculty.
